Gingerbread cookies

for the Christmas spirit

  • 500g flour
  • 200g sugar
  • 100g honey
  • 100ml water
  • 150g butter
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tbsp baking soda

Preparation:

  1. Melt together the sugar, the honey and the water on the hob. Put it aside and add the butter. Let it melt too.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix them together until it becomes a thick dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Leave it in room temperature for an hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut into shapes. Place them on baking paper.
  7. Bake them for 8-10 minutes.
